Telenor Pakistan Appoints Bilal Javed Bhatti as Chief Business Officer

Telenor Pakistan has named Bilal Javed Bhatti as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO), signaling a renewed push toward digital innovation, enterprise expansion, and customer-focused transformation in Pakistan’s telecom market.

With over 20 years of professional experience, Bhatti has spent more than a decade at Telenor Pakistan, leading initiatives that bridged technology, sales, and customer experience. He previously served as Vice President of Sales & Distribution, where he oversaw a team of 175 professionals and achieved strong growth through channel digitization, fintech partnerships, and AI-powered customer engagement.

Bhatti’s leadership has been closely tied to Telenor’s digital transformation agenda, from modernizing retail operations to leveraging analytics for customer insights. His experience across product management, sales strategy, and data-led operations positions him to play a key role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth.

Speaking about the appointment, Fridtjof Rusten, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, said the move demonstrates the company’s confidence in its internal talent.

“Bilal’s appointment reflects the strength of our internal talent pipeline. His visionary leadership and commercial expertise will be essential as we expand our business offerings and enhance value for customers and partners,” Rusten said.

The company’s focus under Bhatti’s leadership is expected to center on enterprise services, IoT adoption, and B2B digital enablement, areas becoming increasingly vital as Pakistan’s telecom operators evolve from voice-centric businesses to multi-service digital ecosystems.

The announcement also aligns with Telenor Pakistan’s broader strategy of sustainable growth and innovation-driven expansion, as the operator continues to navigate rising competition, shifting consumer behaviors, and the growing importance of digital finance and automation.

Telenor Pakistan currently serves over 43 million subscribers, making it the country’s third-largest mobile operator. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telenor Group, launched operations in 2005 and remains a prominent player in Pakistan’s telecom industry.
