Microsoft just gave gamers a massive reason to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The company officially revealed the Xbox Series X25. This limited-edition console comes with a steep price tag. However, it also includes a massive perk. Buyers of the Xbox Series X25 console get a free digital copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved.
A Nostalgic $900 Hardware Package
Fans must shell out $899.99 for the Xbox Series X25. Consequently, this price sits $100 higher than the standard 1TB Xbox Series X. For that premium, Microsoft delivers a striking translucent green console. The hardware features the official Xbox 25th-anniversary logo. Additionally, the package packs an exclusive controller designed to look exactly like the original Xbox gamepad.
Microsoft officially scheduled the release date for November 27, 2026. The company expects short supply. Therefore, it restricts buyers to just one console per customer. Pre-orders initially went live for dedicated fans on August 26. Afterward, pre-orders opened to the general public yesterday, August 27.
Xbox Series X25 & Free Halo Remake
The console pack-in serves as a major bonus. Microsoft includes a full digital code for Halo: Campaign Evolved. This highly anticipated remake officially launched in late July. It celebrates the 25th anniversary of the original blockbuster that built the Xbox brand.
More importantly, this specific release made history. Halo: Campaign Evolved marked the very first time a Halo game ever launched on a PlayStation console. Microsoft released the game simultaneously on Xbox, PC, and the PlayStation 5.
Massive Changes & Major Releases
The year 2026 brought massive shifts to the top of Xbox leadership. Back in February, CEO Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond both stepped down from their positions. Subsequently, Asha Sharma took the reins as the new Xbox CEO.
Despite the corporate shakeup, Microsoft continues pushing high-profile releases. The company already launched Forza Horizon 6 this year. Soon, fans will get their hands on Gears of War: E-Day. Looking ahead, Microsoft prepares to debut the long-awaited Fable reboot in February 2027. Finally, gamers have one more massive industry release to anticipate this holiday season. Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 officially launches this November, having already generated billions in pre-orders.
