Payoneer has released its winners’ list of Entrepreneur of the Year awards and Ayman Sarosh, a freelancer based in Pakistan, has clinched the best Freelancer of the Year award within that category. Ayman uses Upwork – an international freelancing website – as a platform for offering freelance work and provides services related to Content Writing, Administrative or as a Virtual Assistant.

Ayman is from Islamabad and has earned over $10,000 through Upwork so far, having a 100% job success rate. She is a veteran in freelancing, starting way back in 2009 when she left her job to pursue a Masters degree. Through freelancing, she has been able to support her family while working from home for the past 10 years.

While speaking about the award and freelancing in Pakistan, she said:

My experience as a freelancer has inspired many in my country, and winning this award helps validate the path I’ve taken. I truly believe that going with your instincts and believing in yourself takes you a long way, no matter what the circumstances may be.

Payoneer Entrepreneur of the Year award celebrates customer success of people who use their platform for receiving or sending money throughout the world. This program has received 4500 applications from 133 countries and Ayman is amongst the candidates who have been awarded in the final list of the different categories, as can be seen on Payoneer’s blog.

Examples like this particular one just show the potential of Pakistani women and how we should create an inclusive environment for women to participate in the workforce and digital economy.
