Whatsapp Rolls Out New Music Feature For Status Updates

WhatsApp is currently developing a new feature that will enhance the user experience of the chat app by enabling users to incorporate music into their status updates.

The functionality, which was discovered in the most recent WhatsApp Android beta 2.25.2.5 update on the Google Play Store, is inspired by Instagram’s music feature.

The app, which is owned by Meta, has previously introduced a new “like-reaction” feature and changed the user interface of the status updates section.

A new music icon will appear at the top of the drawing editor when users publish a status on WhatsApp, according to WABetaInfo. Users could look for their favourite bands, musicians, or currently popular songs by tapping this symbol.

After choosing a song, users have the option to select a specific section, with image-based statuses having a maximum duration of 15 seconds and video clips having varying lengths. Viewers can access the artist’s Instagram page by tapping on the chosen song that appears alongside the main picture or video.

The social media app’s music component is now in beta and accessible to a small group of testers; its purpose is to improve the app’s use and convenience.

Keep in mind that the ability to attach music to posts was also just added to Meta’s Threads.
