Where Winds Meet Adds Zelda-Like Vehicle Building in Huge Update
Where Winds Meet is rolling out a massive new feature. The free-to-play RPG has exploded in popularity since its release. It broke the 2 million-player mark in just 24 hours on Steam. Now, Developer Everstone Studios is keeping that momentum alive. They are introducing a vehicle-crafting mechanic that takes clear inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Where Winds Meet: Introducing “Ink Structure”
On November 28, Everstone introduced a mechanic called “Ink Structure” to the game’s Chinese servers. This system looks a lot like Zelda’s “Ultrahand” ability. It allows players to freely piece components together to create their own vehicles. To get started, you simply collect mechanics and wood.
According to gameplay footage, the creative possibilities are vast. Players can build:
- Carts
- Flying carts
- Flying speedsters
- Scooters
- Helicopters
Furthermore, this feature includes multiplayer aspects. Users can share blueprints for the vehicles they create. Given the open nature of “Ink Structure”, players will almost certainly push the mechanic to extreme heights, just as fans did with Tears of the Kingdom.
Impact on Gameplay & Exploration
This update significantly changes how you play. It gives players new ways to traverse the world and take on tough enemies. Additionally, “Ink Structure” introduces new collectables. Vehicle components are now scattered across the map, and some even possess special abilities.

Global Release & Future Roadmap
Currently, “Ink Structure” is live only in China. However, it will roll out to a global audience in the future. Everstone has not specified exactly when this will happen yet.
Beyond vehicle building, the developers teased several other improvements. A fix for Solo Mode latency issues is scheduled for mid-December. Fans can also look forward to Steam Deck compatibility, improved visual performance on PS5, and translation optimisations soon.
