Women-Centric Startup Competition ‘She Loves Tech’ is Back in Pakistan for The 6th Time

She Loves Tech is planned to be hosted in 15 cities, some of which are considered second-tier cities, therefore, making it a great opportunity for women who are often underrepresented

CIRCLE, a woman-led startup is once again organizing the ‘She Loves Tech’ in Pakistan, which is a women-centric technology startup competition that is built to accelerate the startup culture amongst women.

After conducting 5 successful competitions in Pakistan, the 2022 edition will be the sixth time these competitions take place in Pakistan, and women entrepreneurs around the country are more than excited.

This time, the competitions will be conducted at a grander scale than before. This means that apart from being conducted in smaller cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, She Loves Tech will also include smaller tier two cities such as Sukkur, Hyderabad and Gilgit Baltistan, which obviously will bring forward some great unrepresented woman entrepreneurs.

While the whole world was limited to their homes, ‘She Loves Tech’ continued to host the competition virtually and actually turned it into a success. Last year, the competition had around 200 applicants, 60 of which made it into the local pitching rounds, while only 10 made it into the national rounds.

Outclass’, a startup headed by Amina Bashir was the one winner in the competition, who then went on to compete in the global rounds of the competition. The startup, thanks to its dedicated team, is doing pretty well now and has raised around $500,000 in seed funding. Apart from Amina, another finalist, Dr Saira Siddique the CEO of ‘medIQ’ was also able to raise around $1.8 million for her Health consultancy startup. These numbers and opportunities only go on to show the benefits that female entrepreneurs can get by competing in the ‘She Loves Tech’ competition.

With a goal to reach and inspire 25,000 young women in the country towards entrepreneurship, the She Loves Tech 2022 will include great learning activities such as pitches, panels, inspiring talks, digital boot camps, workshops and even conferences with policymakers about the inclusion of women in the economy.

Hosting the competition in 70+ locations and around six continents, CIRCLE CEO Sadaffe Abid said that “at CIRCLE we are committed to promoting digital and financial inclusion of women along with creating an enabling ecosystem for women startups and women in tech.”
