For years, Xiaomi has treated September as the fixed launch window for its T series phones. That pattern could soon change. A new rumor from China suggests the company plans to move the schedule forward in 2026.
If the report proves accurate, Xiaomi may unveil the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro around May. That would mean a launch roughly four months earlier than usual. Such a move would significantly reshape Xiaomi’s product calendar.
The Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro both debuted last September. In fact, every T-series model has arrived in the same month like clockwork. Shifting the Xiaomi 17T series to May would break a long-standing routine.
The leak also reveals model numbers. The Xiaomi 17T reportedly carries 2602DPT53G. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is said to have 2602EPTC0G. Internally, Xiaomi has codenamed the devices Chagall and Warhol.
The standard 17T could feature the Dimensity 8500 SoC. The Pro version may use the more powerful Dimensity 9500. In addition, both phones are expected to pack larger batteries than the 15T lineup. However, camera upgrades may remain modest.
Interestingly, an earlier leak painted a slightly different picture. That report claimed the 17T would use the Dimensity 9400 instead of the 8500. It also suggested the phone would keep the exact same camera setup as the 15T. However, it would increase battery capacity to 6,500 mAh and support 67W charging.
These conflicting details highlight the uncertainty around the Xiaomi 17T series. Different sources continue to disagree on key specifications. As a result, it is wise to treat these early reports with caution.
