Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro will launch in China on June 8. The announcement is important because it marks the first time Xiaomi’s T Series smartphones will officially debut in the company’s home market.
The company introduced the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro globally last week. Xiaomi also launched the standard Xiaomi 17T yesterday.
Both smartphones ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. However, the two models use different chipsets. The Xiaomi 17T runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro comes with the more powerful Dimensity 9500 chip.
Xiaomi has also made noticeable changes in the display and battery departments. The Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,268p resolution. It packs a 6,500mAh Si/C battery that supports 67W wired charging.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17T Pro offers a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,280p resolution. The device houses a bigger 7,000mAh Si/C battery. It also supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
For photography, both smartphones include a quad-camera setup. The system consists of a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front camera for selfies.
However, Xiaomi uses different primary sensors on both models. The Xiaomi 17T features the Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro uses the newer Light Fusion 950 sensor. The Pro variant also brings advanced video features. It supports 4K video recording at 120fps and 8K recording at 30fps.
Xiaomi has already shared detailed specifications for both smartphones. Reviews for the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are also available, revealing more about their performance, cameras, and battery life ahead of the China launch.
