Xiaomi has launched its new Poco M8 5G series, introducing the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro. These phones aim to deliver strong performance and advanced features at an affordable price. Both models run on the latest Snapdragon chipsets and feature Android 15-based HyperOS 2, offering AI-powered tools like Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
The Xiaomi Poco M8 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and pairs up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Its 6.77-inch AMOLED display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, and 12-bit color depth, delivering sharp and vivid visuals.
For photography, the Poco M8 5G features a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main camera with a 2MP depth sensor at the back. A 20MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The device packs a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP66 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an infrared sensor, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and expandable storage.
The Poco M8 Pro 5G steps up performance with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and the Poco IceLoop cooling system to manage heat efficiently. Its 6.83-inch AMOLED display has a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, 3,200 nits peak brightness, and 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the screen.
Camera upgrades include a dual rear setup with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front camera. The M8 Pro 5G features a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Other specifications include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 rating, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, 5G, GPS, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
The Xiaomi Poco M8 5G comes in Black, Green, and Silver. The 8GB/256GB variant costs $229 (£229), while the 8GB/512GB option is priced at $279 (£259). Early-bird offers reduce prices to $209 (£189) and $259 (£219), respectively.
The Poco M8 Pro 5G also comes in the same colors. The 8GB/256GB model is priced at $299 (£299), and the 12GB/512GB version costs $359 (£349). Early-bird discounts bring these down to $279 (£259) and $339 (£299).
