Xiaomi has confirmed it will host its next global launch event in Barcelona on February 28, just ahead of MWC. The company shared the news on X with the tagline “The New Wave of Imagery is arriving.” That message strongly hints that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will make its international debut at the event.
The announcement is significant for markets like Pakistan. Xiaomi typically brings its flagship phones to the region soon after global launches. As a result, local buyers can expect the new lineup to arrive shortly after the Barcelona showcase.
Alongside the Ultra model, the standard Xiaomi 17 is also rumored to launch globally. If true, Xiaomi will introduce two flagship phones at the same event. In addition, reports suggest several other products will join the stage. These include the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, the Xiaomi Tag, and the Xiaomi Watch 5. Together, these devices could strengthen Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem strategy.

However, not every model may see an international release. So far, there is no confirmation about a global rollout for the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Current expectations suggest both devices will remain exclusive to China. This includes the version that features a rear display, a design element that has drawn attention in the domestic market.
When it comes to specifications, recent reports indicate that Xiaomi will keep European pricing in line with previous models. Apart from battery size, the global variants are expected to match their Chinese counterparts.
The global Xiaomi 17 is said to pack a 6,330 mAh battery. In China, the same device offers a larger 7,000 mAh unit. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to feature a 6,000 mAh battery internationally. The Chinese version carries a bigger 6,800 mAh battery.
