Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has officially launched Z-Wallet. This innovative service utilizes a modern embedded-finance model. Consequently, it brings regulated digital financial services directly to millions of users. Zindigi achieved this milestone through its robust Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) infrastructure in partnership with technology services enterprise Zong.
Today’s launch event took place in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, attended alongside various government officials. Ultimately, this event highlights how Zindigi embeds banking capabilities into large-scale consumer platforms. This approach creates a simpler, highly accessible, and integrated digital experience.
Zindigi operates strictly under the regulatory framework of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). By leveraging its digital banking capabilities, Zindigi integrates finance seamlessly into existing applications. For instance, Z-Wallet, powered by Zindigi, now lives inside the My Zong App. This platform currently boasts over 22 million monthly active users. Therefore, customers can access essential banking services instantly without downloading a separate financial application.
Zindigi Co-Founder and Chief Officer, Noman Azhar, emphasized the company’s forward-thinking vision. “We believe the next chapter of financial inclusion will not be written by building more banking destinations, but by making banking available inside the ecosystems people already use,” Azhar stated. He further explained that Z-Wallet represents embedded finance at scale. It successfully puts Zindigi’s regulated BaaS infrastructure directly into the daily customer journey.
Currently, Z-Wallet empowers users to perform interbank fund transfers to any bank across Pakistan via RAAST. Furthermore, customers can easily pay utility and internet bills or purchase mobile top-ups. They accomplish all of this using a single login and PIN. Zindigi also plans to expand this financial ecosystem very soon. Upcoming features include nano lending, a dedicated Z-Debit Card, and specialized connectivity bundles.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar praised the initiative during the event. He noted that such private-sector collaborations strongly support the Government’s Digital Nation Pakistan vision. Specifically, they advance financial inclusion and encourage the rapid adoption of digital payments. Additionally, Zong Marketing Head Sajid Munir highlighted that combining global technology expertise with Zindigi’s financial capabilities brings connectivity, technology, and finance together on a single platform.
Following a recent soft launch, Zindigi has already witnessed impressive organic traction prior to any major marketing investments. The BaaS-powered wallet securely onboarded approximately 22,000 verified users. Moreover, it processed over 12,000 transactions within just a few weeks. The host application sees over 500,000 new downloads every month. As a result, Zindigi is perfectly positioned to rapidly scale its digital financial services and drive broader digital inclusion across Pakistan.
