Pakistan’s telecom sector saw noticeable subscriber shifts in June 2026. According to the latest official subscriber data, Jazz and Telenor lost cellular market share. Meanwhile, Zong and Ufone successfully strengthened their overall positions in the industry.
Jazz Leads the Cellular Market Share Race as Zong & Ufone Gain Ground
Despite experiencing a recent decline, Jazz easily remains Pakistan’s largest mobile operator. The company held 36.25 percent of the cellular market in June 2026. This figure represents a slight drop from 36.42 percent in May. Nevertheless, Jazz still controls more than one-third of the entire telecom market.
Zong further consolidated its position as the second-largest operator in the country. The company increased its market share to 26.72 percent in June, up from 26.62 percent a month earlier. Consequently, Zong is steadily closing the gap with the market leader.
Furthermore, Ufone actively expanded its digital footprint. The operator saw its market share rise to 14.81 percent in June from 14.65 percent in May.
On the other hand, Telenor experienced a downward trend. The company’s subscriber share slipped to 21.17 percent in June, compared with 21.26 percent in the previous month.
Meanwhile, SCO indicated a highly stable subscriber base. Its market share remained completely unchanged at 1.05 percent.
Intense Competition Drives the Market
These latest figures underscore an increasingly competitive telecom market in Pakistan. Currently, operators are aggressively competing for new subscribers. They aim to capture this audience through widespread network expansion and new digital service offerings.
Although the monthly shifts were marginal, they clearly highlight the changing dynamics of Pakistan’s mobile sector. Specifically, Zong and Ufone continued to gain ground at the direct expense of Jazz and Telenor. Moving forward, competition among these cellular operators is expected to remain highly intense in the coming months.
