The US Department of State has launched an online tip portal that allows members of the public to report suspected visa fraud and misuse. The tool is available Here.
The department said the portal offers a convenient and reliable way to submit information for prompt review and action. It said tips from the public helped identify many of the tens of thousands of visa fraudsters it has held accountable during President Donald Trump’s second term.
The department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is carrying out fraud detection and prevention activities to stop attempts to enter the United States through fraudulent means or for illegal purposes.
Officials said visa fraud can involve falsified documents or travel plans, sham marriages arranged by brokers, shell companies, fabricated job offers, and birth tourism.
The department said such schemes harm American communities, undermine the US economy and workers, and threaten national security and public safety. It said it is enforcing US laws fully and will hold violators accountable, including by revoking visas and referring cases for further law enforcement investigation.
