Xiaomi has expanded its tablet lineup with the new Pad 9 Pro and Pad 9 in China. The tablets were launched alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The new models join the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, which was introduced earlier this month. Both tablets focus on high-resolution displays, large batteries, and fast charging.
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro is the larger model of the two. It features a 12.5-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3.2K resolution. The tablet runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
For photography, the Pad 9 Pro has a 50MP primary rear camera. A 32MP camera is placed on the front for selfies and video calls. The tablet also packs an 11,000mAh battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging, while reverse wired charging is also available.
Xiaomi Pad 9
The Xiaomi Pad 9 is slightly smaller, featuring an 11.2-inch display. It retains the same display specifications as the Pro model, including the 144Hz refresh rate and 3.2K resolution. However, Xiaomi uses a different chipset on the standard model. The Pad 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.
The tablet offers the same RAM and storage configurations as the Pro model. Its camera setup includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Power comes from a 9,720mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Reverse wired charging is also supported on the Pad 9.
Both tablets share several connectivity and hardware features. These include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and quad speakers. The speakers also support Dolby Atmos for a more immersive audio experience. Meanwhile, the different configurations give buyers more storage and memory options.
Pricing
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro starts at CNY 3,799 ($565) for the 8GB/128GB model. The 8GB/256GB version costs CNY 4,099 ($610). The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at CNY 4,599 ($685). Xiaomi also offers a 12GB/256GB model with a matte screen. The top-end 16GB RAM version costs CNY 4,999 ($745). The Pad 9 Pro is available in Black, Silver, and Spruce Green.
The Xiaomi Pad 9 starts at CNY 2,999 ($450) for the 8GB/128GB model. The 8GB/256GB version is priced at CNY 3,299 ($490). There is also an 8GB/256GB soft light edition priced at CNY 3,499 ($520). The 12GB/256GB model costs CNY 3,799 ($565).
The standard Pad 9 comes in Black, Ice Peach Pink, Silver, and Spruce Green. Both tablets are currently part of Xiaomi’s latest tablet lineup in China.
