OpenAI has brought holiday cheer to ChatGPT Plus subscribers by offering unlimited access to its advanced AI video generator, Sora, this season. This temporary offering allows users to explore their creative potential without restrictions, providing a rare opportunity to experience the full capabilities of AI-driven video production.
Typically capped at 50 video generations per month, the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan now offers unlimited usage of Sora during the holidays via a “relaxed queue.” Sora, the company’s primary video generation tool, was unveiled as part of OpenAI’s “12 Days of OpenAI” event. It provides a unique set of capabilities. Frame-by-frame text prompts and visual instructions enable users to produce high-quality videos in a matter of minutes.
CEO Sam Altman took to X to share the news, saying, “Our GPUs get a little less busy during late December as people take a break from work, so we are giving all Plus users unlimited Sora access via the relaxed queue over the holidays!”
Sora, which was launched last month, has already been credited with popularizing video production. It eliminates the complexity of the conventional editing software to allow anyone, beginners, intermediate, or advanced users to create anything from art pieces to brand advertising.
However, restrictions to the Plus plan still exist, for instance, the maximum video resolution is 480p for the 10-second clip and 720p for the 5-second video. Additionally, Sora cannot be used to animate real or AI-generated images of people.
The Sora is easy to use and works very fast, which places it among the leading AI video tools on the market today. This holiday initiative will be a perfect start for a new creative revolution, as thousands of users worldwide will be able to work with sophisticated video production tools.
