Govt Extends NITB Director Imran Maqsood’s Contract for One Year
ISLAMABAD: The government has approved the contract extension of Imran Maqsood, Director (Consultancy & Advisory) at the National Information Technology Board (NITB). His tenure under the MP-III Scale has been extended for one year or until the dissolution of NITB, whichever comes first. The extension is effective from February 16, 2025, as per the Management Position Scales Policy, 2020.
The Cabinet Secretariat, Establishment Division, issued an official notification on March 11, 2025, confirming the extension. The notification has been forwarded to key government officials, including the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Establishment Division, ensuring necessary actions are taken for implementation.
The extension of Imran Maqsood’s contract comes at a critical time as the future of NITB remains uncertain amid potential government restructuring. His role as Director of Consultancy & Advisory involves overseeing key IT initiatives and advising on technological advancements for government departments.
While the dissolution of NITB remains a possibility, the government’s decision to extend Maqsood’s contract suggests that ongoing IT projects and digital governance initiatives will continue. The move aligns with Pakistan’s vision for advancing digital transformation and strengthening the IT infrastructure within government institutions.
