Google Find My Device Gets a Major Upgrade with Live Tracking
Google has updated its Find My Device app, making it easier for users to prevent device loss and track their devices if misplaced. The latest update introduces a real-time location tracking feature, allowing users to monitor the live positions of people with whom they have shared their location.
This enhanced version of Find My Device builds upon the improvements made in Android’s March feature update. The real-time tracking capability is now being gradually introduced to a wider audience.
Previously, the app focused solely on sharing a device’s location with friends and family. Now, users can track both their devices and people simultaneously.
One of the most notable additions is the app’s integration with Google Maps on iOS, enabling users to see the live locations of their contacts. A new “People” tab within the Find My Device app allows users to access this tracking feature.
By tapping on this tab, users can view the real-time locations of individuals who have shared their location with them.
Additionally, this new tab provides the flexibility to manage location-sharing settings, including adjusting the duration for which their location is visible. These updates offer users greater control over location tracking, enhancing both convenience and security.
