US Diplomatic Advisory Issued for Pakistan Over Security Concerns

WASHINGTON: The United States has issued a fresh US diplomatic advisory instructing its diplomatic personnel in Pakistan to remain in place until further notice due to unspecified security concerns, according to a statement released by the US State Department on Saturday.

During a brief press conference, the State Department announced that updated security guidelines would be released later this afternoon. “We have instructed all diplomatic employees in Pakistan to restrict their movements as a precautionary measure,” a State Department spokesperson said.

Although no direct threat was identified, the spokesperson emphasized that the US diplomatic advisory was issued as a precaution. It remains unclear whether the directive solely applies to the embassy in Islamabad or extends to American consulates in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar.

Pakistan Launches Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos

Meanwhile, security sources in Pakistan reported that the country’s Armed Forces had launched a major military operation known as “Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos” earlier on Saturday. The campaign is said to be in response to continued provocations by India.

Sources confirmed that Pakistani forces successfully targeted and destroyed a BrahMos missile storage facility in Beas, believed to be a launch site for attacks against Pakistan.

In addition, several strategic Indian sites have been targeted under Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos. Notably, the Udhampur Air Base and the airfield in Pathankot have sustained significant damage, according to security officials.

Trump Offers to Mediate Between India and Pakistan

US President Donald Trump previously offered to mediate the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump described the current situation as “a shame” and expressed his willingness to assist both sides in negotiating a lasting peace, Reuters reported.

Trump emphasized that while the United States values its strategic relationships with both India and Pakistan, Washington is positioned as an impartial broker. He noted that both nations have engaged in a “tit-for-tat” approach, stressing that “they need to stop” to prevent further escalation.
