FIA Registers Case Against 58 CDA Employees in Recruitment Scam
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a formal case against 58 former CDA employees following revelations of widespread irregularities in recruitment processes. The officials are accused of securing appointments through forged academic degrees, fake school leaving certificates, counterfeit driving licences, and falsified experience documents.
Investigations by the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad uncovered that these appointments violated established rules and procedures, including provincial merit quotas. Two inquiries, ongoing since 2022, revealed that the credentials of the implicated staff spanning Scale 4 to Scale 14 positions were allegedly fraudulent.
The inquiries will also examine the role of CDA officials involved in the unlawful recruitment and subsequent regularisation of employees, including appointments made outside of provincial quotas.
FIA Investigation and Proceedings
Following verification of the fraudulent documents, the FIA initiated proceedings to ascertain responsibility for the irregular hiring. Officials confirmed that all appointments based on forged documents are now under scrutiny, with legal action being pursued against the individuals involved.

The case encompasses employees across various roles, from technical and clerical positions to drivers and support staff. Investigations are ongoing to identify the facilitators and enforce accountability.
