Punjab Government Announces Christmas Bonus for Christian Employees

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a special one-month salary bonus for Christian government employees on the occasion of Christmas, reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to minority welfare and inclusive governance.

The announcement was made during a Christmas celebration held at Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore, where Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari attended as the chief guest. On behalf of the Chief Minister, gifts were distributed among Christian employees, and participants marked the occasion by cutting a Christmas cake in a festive atmosphere.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed solidarity with the Christian community, stating that the happiness of Christian citizens is shared equally across Punjab. She emphasized that minorities hold a special place in her heart and that their contributions to public service are valued and respected.

The salary bonus reflects the Punjab government’s broader policy of recognizing the services of minority communities, particularly during important religious occasions. Such initiatives have been introduced in recent years to promote social harmony, inclusion, and equal participation of minorities in public life.
