Islamabad Adds Two New M Tag Counters For Faster Registration

Islamabad authorities have further simplified the M-Tag registration process as the final compliance deadline approaches, giving motorists less than 15 days to get registered. The move aims to reduce congestion at toll plazas and ensure smooth electronic toll collection across the capital’s highways. Officials are urging vehicle owners to complete registration immediately to avoid last-minute rush and possible penalties.

The M-Tag system was introduced to modernize toll collection, cut down waiting times, and improve transparency. While the deadline has already been extended once, authorities have clarified that no further extensions are planned. With full enforcement expected soon, unregistered vehicles may face delays or restrictions at toll points.

According to officials, the process has been deliberately kept simple. Motorists only need to bring their vehicle registration card or book along with the CNIC of the vehicle owner. No additional paperwork or lengthy verification is required.

“As long as the vehicle registration and CNIC are valid, the M-Tag is issued immediately,” an official said, encouraging citizens to comply without delay.

With the deadline close, authorities warn that waiting until the last days could result in long queues and inconvenience. Early registration not only saves time but also ensures uninterrupted travel on Islamabad’s toll roads once strict enforcement begins.
