Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced a key change in its board management, informing investors that Director Abdulrahim A. Al Nooryani has resigned, with Khalifa Al Shamsi appointed as his replacement, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
In its official disclosure on Monday, PTCL confirmed that Abdulrahim A. Al Nooryani stepped down from the Board of Directors with effect from January 1, 2026. The company stated that Khalifa Al Shamsi has been appointed as the new director, ensuring continuity in board leadership.
A PTCL notice to the PSX stated,
“The Board of Directors has approved the resignation of Mr. Abdulrahim A. Al Nooryani and the appointment of Mr. Khalifa Al Shamsi as Director of the company.”
The management change comes at a significant time for PTCL, which has recently completed the 100% acquisition of Telenor Pakistan, strengthening its position in the country’s telecom sector. Such board-level adjustments are seen as part of PTCL’s broader governance and strategic realignment following major corporate developments.
Established on December 31, 1995, PTCL is Pakistan’s leading telecom service provider, offering domestic and international telephony, broadband, and digital communication services across the country. The company continues to play a central role in Pakistan’s telecommunications infrastructure and digital transformation.
