Gold prices surged across Pakistan on Wednesday, following a sharp rally in the global bullion market and extending recent gains. The local market saw strong buying activity as international prices climbed significantly. As a result, gold prices moved higher across all major weight categories.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, gold per tola rose by Rs. 12,700. It closed at Rs. 506,362 by the end of the session. At the same time, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs. 10,888 to reach Rs. 434,123.
The latest surge came after another strong session on Tuesday. Gold per tola had settled at Rs. 493,662 after posting a Rs. 4,300 gain in one day.
International markets provided the main push. Global gold prices jumped by $127 to reach $4,840 per ounce. This price included a premium of $20, reflecting strong investor demand.
Silver prices also moved up during the day, although gains remained modest. Silver rose by Rs. 64 and closed at Rs. 9,933 per tola in the domestic market.
