A criminal case has been registered in Lahore after the alleged abduction of KIPS Education System Chief Executive Officer Abid Wazir Khan, triggering concern across academic and civil circles. Police say the FIR was lodged following a complaint by the victim’s brother, with authorities now investigating the incident involving unidentified suspects.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Lahore police registered the case on Thursday at Johar Town police station under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with kidnapping or abduction with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person. The complaint was filed by Abid Wazir Khan’s brother, Tahir Wazir Khan.
The FIR states that Abid Wazir Khan was allegedly abducted by unidentified individuals, after which the family lost direct contact with him. Police officials confirmed that investigations are underway and multiple angles are being examined to trace his whereabouts and identify those involved.
The FIR also recounts a telephone conversation between Abid Wazir Khan and KIPS Education System’s general manager, identified as Lubna. This call has been included as part of the official record and is expected to assist investigators in reconstructing the timeline leading up to the alleged abduction.
Law enforcement sources say call records and digital evidence are being reviewed as part of the probe.
KIPS Education System is one of Pakistan’s most prominent private education networks, with campuses across multiple cities and thousands of students enrolled in preparatory and academic programs. Any incident involving its senior leadership has naturally drawn public attention and raised questions around safety, security, and accountability.
In recent years, cases involving high-profile individuals have often highlighted delays in identification of suspects, making swift investigation crucial. Authorities have assured that all available resources are being used to resolve the matter.
Police officials have stated that no arrests have been made so far, but efforts are ongoing to trace Abid Wazir Khan and determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. Further developments are expected as the investigation progresses.
