The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will suspend gas supply for industrial users and CNG stations across the region this weekend, citing rising demand and limited reserves.
A spokesperson for SSGC confirmed that all industrial consumers, including captive power facilities, and CNG stations using conventional gas or RLNG, will face a complete gas supply suspension during the 48-hour weekend shutdown.
The suspension will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, January 31, and continue until 8:00 am on Monday, February 2, the company said in an official statement.
Officials have advised industrial users and CNG operators to make advance preparations to minimise operational disruptions during the temporary gas halt.
This move is part of ongoing efforts to balance gas distribution amid rising consumption, ensuring essential services and critical sectors continue to receive adequate supply.
Last Friday, SSGC halted gas to factories and CNG stations for two days to increase pipeline pressure and maintain uninterrupted gas flow for homes across the region.
The company advised households experiencing low gas supply during the shutdown to call its 24-hour helpline, 1199, assuring that staff would respond promptly to resolve complaints.
