The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward momentum against the US dollar on Wednesday, closing in the green for the 94th consecutive session, according to interbank market data.
During today’s trading session, the rupee gained three paisas against the US dollar and closed at Rs 279.72, compared to the previous close of Rs 279.75.
The sustained appreciation reflects relative stability in the foreign exchange market and controlled demand for dollars.
Performance Against Other Major Currencies
The rupee also posted gains against several other major currencies in the interbank market. It rose by one paisa against the UAE Dirham (AED) and closed slightly higher against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
However, the local currency lost 53 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 40 paisas against the Euro (EUR). It gained three paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) but fell 33 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).

Overall, the PKR ended the session mixed against major global currencies but maintained its long-running upward trend versus the US dollar.
