The Peshawar Safe City Project has integrated drone and anti-drone technology into its central command system to strengthen security and surveillance across the city. According to police officials, this is the first time in Pakistan that a drone unit and an anti-drone system have been integrated with a Safe City project.
The anti-drone system can detect and monitor drones within a five-kilometer radar range and automatically alert the Safe City control room about suspicious activity.
The technology will support round-the-clock aerial surveillance of sensitive locations, traffic, and potential criminal and terrorist threats.
Police officials said the system will operate in Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat. Live drone feeds will enable authorities to monitor field operations in real time and provide operational support to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), improving coordination and security monitoring across the region.
