The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has introduced a digital examination marking system to improve the evaluation of answer sheets and streamline examination procedures across its jurisdiction.
Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Iqbal Mahmood confirmed the rollout on Wednesday following mock drills involving education officers, college principals, and examination controllers from across the division, according to an official press release.
The new system integrates paper setting, answer sheet printing, trimming, scanning, and online evaluation through a centralized digital dashboard. It also includes electronic candidate sheets, QR code-based attendance tracking, and high-speed scanning of answer booklets to improve the monitoring and processing of examinations.
QR codes will be used to verify the attendance of candidates and invigilation staff, while the board’s Command and Control System will monitor examination centres through real-time video surveillance.
A board spokesperson said district-level training sessions for teaching faculty would begin immediately to prepare staff for the new procedures ahead of upcoming examinations. The initiative aims to improve evaluation efficiency, strengthen monitoring, and streamline the overall examination process.
