The wait is almost over. Resident Evil Requiem is swiftly approaching its February 27 release date. However, the game isn’t the only thing fans should get excited about. During the latest “Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase“, the franchise officially revealed its first-ever line of Amiibo figures.
These new collectables feature returning favourite Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft. While the game launches later this month, these highly anticipated figures will hit shelves in Summer 2026.
The Best of Both Worlds
This latest entry in the decade-spanning franchise promises a split gameplay experience. Leon Kennedy returns to the action-oriented style defined by Resident Evil 4. Conversely, Grace Ashcroft encapsulates the slow-burn survival horror that originally brought the series success.
Now, Nintendo fans can celebrate these dual playstyles physically. The newly revealed Amiibo figures capture both characters with great detail and care. Since this is the Resident Evil series’ first venture into Amiibo, expectations for their design are high.
What Do They Unlock in Resident Evil Requiem?
These figures serve a purpose beyond simple decoration. Similar to other titles that lock content behind Amiibo, the Resident Evil Requiem figures provide specific in-game goods.
Specifically, scanning these figures will unlock unique in-game weapon skins. The announcement showcased a stylish “neon-style” skin as one of the rewards. Therefore, players won’t just display these figures on their shelves… they will use them to customise their gameplay experience.
A Collector’s Replacement
Recently, news broke that Resident Evil Requiem will not have a standard Collector’s Edition. Many fans felt disappointed by the lack of a physical collectable. However, these Amiibo seem to be an apt replacement.
Designed to appease the most devoted fans, these figures offer a tangible connection to the game. Because the franchise has a massive following outside of Nintendo, these figures could sell out fast. While select Amiibo have seen restocks in the past, availability for third-party games can be unpredictable. Consequently, collectors should keep a close watch when Summer 2026 arrives.
