The Lahore Traffic Police will begin wearing a new official uniform from February 14, following approval from the Punjab government. The move marks a visible change in the city’s traffic enforcement system and is part of broader reforms aimed at modernising policing across the province.
According to official notifications, the uniform change will be implemented in phases. In the first phase, the new uniform will be introduced only in Lahore. The second phase will extend the change to Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, and Rawalpindi, while the final phase will cover remaining districts of Punjab.
Alongside the uniform update, authorities have also announced the introduction of electric patrolling vehicles, which will be linked with the Safe Cities Authority. Officials said the shift to electric vehicles will help reduce fuel expenses and support environmentally friendly policing while improving monitoring and response capabilities.
