Mobile internet service has begun to be restored in various districts of Azad Kashmir after remaining suspended for three months, with several areas already reconnected under a newly announced phased restoration plan.
As per details, internet service has been restored in Neelum, Leepa and Haveli district, while educational institutions and government offices in Muzaffarabad and other districts have also regained access to the internet.
Following the restoration in these areas, communication facilities have started returning to normal, easing the disruption faced by residents, students and government employees over the past three months.
The newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Iftikhar Ali Gillani, had announced on Saturday that internet services across the entire region would be fully restored within a period of two days.
Services, which had remained suspended since June 8, are being restored in phases, with educational institutions granted access first before the connection is extended to the general public.
Speaking to media during a visit to the Press Club, Gillani said that all entry and exit routes into Azad Kashmir, which had also been affected, would reopen within the same two-day period.
