Thousands of passengers using Lahore Railway Station are likely to see major relief in the coming months as work begins on a modern parking facility, public park and better road access around the station. The project is being carried out with the support of the Punjab government and aims to ease traffic problems and make travel easier for commuters.
For a long time, reaching the station has been difficult due to traffic jams and a shortage of parking space. Cars were often parked along nearby roads, causing delays even for short drop-offs. Officials say the new parking facility will be able to hold 250 to 300 vehicles, which should help reduce congestion in the area.
The plan also includes a dedicated bridge and new access roads connecting the station to different parts of the city. According to the Lahore Development Authority, separate entry and exit routes will be provided to improve traffic flow and reduce crowding.
Deputy Director LDA Faisal Shafeeh said the project is progressing on schedule and will be completed within the given time. He said the new road system will allow passengers to reach the station without unnecessary delays.
In addition, the station has recently introduced a family lounge and a VIP lounge, offering better seating and food facilities. These improvements are part of ongoing efforts by Pakistan Railways to improve passenger services.
