The Education Department in Punjab has formed special committees to ensure strict implementation of security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in schools across the province. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the District Education Officer (Elementary) to review security preparedness in educational institutions.
According to official sources, the meeting was presided over by District Education Officer Imtiaz Awan, who directed Deputy District Education Officers (DDEOs) and Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) to ensure full compliance with the prescribed security guidelines.
He stated that monitoring officers will conduct visits to schools in their respective tehsils to assess on-ground security arrangements, including entry controls, boundary walls, CCTV surveillance where available, and emergency response measures.
The DEO emphasized that ensuring 100 percent implementation of security SOPs is the responsibility of field officers and warned that strict administrative action will be taken against institutions found violating security directives.
Officials said the move aims to strengthen school safety, protect students and teachers, and enhance preparedness in light of prevailing security concerns in the province.
