Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) cautioned mobile consumers to remain vigilant against unintended balance deductions that may occur when data bundles expire or are exhausted, while mobile internet continues on higher Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) rates. Remember, almost all of the major Telecom companies charge higher rates after the bundle expires, causing heavy bills.
In its official advisory released on March 19, 2026, in Islamabad, the PTA warned that users may incur unexpected charges when their data bundles expire or are fully used, while mobile internet continues to operate at higher Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) rates.
To prevent such charges, Cellular Mobile Operators offer a free Balance Save (PayG Blocker) service that automatically stops internet usage once the bundle is finished, protecting the user’s remaining balance.
