The Sindh government has announced plans to introduce a watermarking system in examination papers to trace individuals involved in leaks and prevent malpractice. The decision was confirmed by Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo during a meeting on preparations for upcoming exams.
Officials reviewed arrangements at examination centers, covering security, furniture, drinking water, electricity supply, and anti-cheating measures. Briefings were also given on procurement, tenders, and budget allocations.
Rahoo directed all board chairpersons to ensure the transparent and timely conduct of examinations, warning that any negligence or involvement in paper leaks would result in strict action against responsible officials.
The exams will see 1,353,258 students from grades 9 to 12 across Sindh appearing in over 1,600 examination centers. Key schedules include:
- Karachi: Grades 9 and 10 starting April 7; Grades 11 and 12 from April 25.
- Sukkur Division: Grades 9 and 10 from March 30; Grades 11 and 12 from April 15.
Some divisions, including Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad, will implement an e-marking system for assessment. Larkana Board will evaluate eight papers digitally, while Karachi will assess all grade 9 papers and two matric papers using the same system.
Additionally, the government will establish a provincial complaint cell at the Boards Secretary’s office to monitor examination centers and vigilance teams. Measures such as banning mobile phones and enforcing Section 144 will be strictly applied at all exam venues.
