The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementary and Secondary Education Department has established Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Institute to promote modern technology and digital transformation in the province’s education sector.
The institute will focus on developing AI-based solutions and improving digital systems within the education department. A seven-member team has also been formed to prepare technical frameworks and guidelines for the initiative.
The team will review existing systems and recommend measures to reduce manual processes across the department. The institute will also develop modern digital applications aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and service delivery in the education sector.
The initiative is part of the KP government’s broader efforts to expand the use of AI and digital technologies in education. Earlier this year, the provincial government also took steps toward establishing an AI Education Authority to promote AI-based teaching systems and other education reforms.
