The federal government has removed Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa from his post as Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), appointing Lt. (Retd) Sohail Ashraf as the new Chief Commissioner.
Following approval from the federal government, the Cabinet Division issued the official notification regarding the appointment.
Lt. (Retd) Ashraf, a Grade-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, was previously serving in the Punjabgovernment as Secretary Communications and Works. His prior civil service experience includes serving as Deputy Commissioner in Faisalabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
He is also expected to assume the role of Chairman CDA, consolidating his oversight over urban governance and development initiatives in the federal capital. This administrative change marks a key reshuffle in Islamabad’s top management structure.
