The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has announced a major increase in kerosene oil prices, raising the rate by Rs. 34.08 per litre. Following the revision, the new price has been fixed at Rs. 467.48 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs. 433.40 per litre.
The increase comes amid broader upward adjustments in petroleum product prices, as authorities continue to align local fuel rates with fluctuations in global oil markets. Recent hikes in petrol and diesel prices reflect sustained pressure from rising international crude oil costs and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
The latest surge in kerosene prices is expected to further strain household budgets, particularly in rural and remote areas where it is widely used for cooking, heating, and lighting. Analysts warn that continued increases in fuel prices could intensify inflationary pressures and raise the cost of living for consumers across the country.
