Xiaomi appears to be refining its flagship strategy as new details surface about its next premium smartphones. The company recently introduced the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, both featuring a distinctive rear display. Now, fresh leaks suggest that Xiaomi is preparing to build on that idea with the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
According to the source, both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will continue to feature a rear display. Moreover, they may introduce an “AI-powered smart window,” based on a machine translation from Chinese. While its exact function remains unclear, this signals that Xiaomi plans to expand the rear screen into a more useful feature. As a result, the design is less likely to be treated as a one-time experiment.
In addition, the report claims that Xiaomi has improved the speakers and the vibration motor in both models. However, the tipster did not share specific details about these upgrades. Even so, these refinements suggest Xiaomi is focusing on a more complete user experience.
Both devices are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC. The launch is expected in September, which leaves room for more leaks in the coming months. Furthermore, earlier rumors indicate that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display. It may also include a 7,000 mAh or larger battery, along with wireless charging support and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
On the camera side, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is rumored to include two 200MP rear cameras. These include the main sensor and a telephoto lens. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to feature a larger 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED display. It will also come with narrower bezels compared to its predecessor. Overall, it is likely to share many core specifications with the smaller model, offering users a similar experience in a bigger form factor.
