The Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) has announced a major initiative to increase revenue by leasing indoor advertising spaces at metro stations across the province.
Under the plan, prime advertising locations at 26 stations of the Orange Line train will be made available to private companies. Interested firms have until April 16 to submit bids. Company representatives are also invited to attend a briefing to understand the bidding process in detail.
The stations are divided into two sides, each with three rental categories. For one side, monthly rents are set at Rs. 132,000 (Category A), Rs. 108,000 (Category B), and Rs. 90,000 (Category C). The other side has higher rates: Rs. 455,000 (Category A), Rs. 355,000 (Category B), and Rs. 260,000 (Category C). Companies can secure leases by offering bids above these base prices.
Officials said the initiative aims to activate indoor advertising spaces that have long remained unused. The revenue generated is expected to strengthen the financial resources of PMTA and support the development of a more robust urban transport system.
