Punjab provincial assembly will soon review a government plan reducing traffic fines across the province, following approval of a summary by Chief Minister Punjab and DIG Traffic Punjab.
According to the details, motorcycle fines have been lowered from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000, while rickshaw fines have been reduced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,000.
Serious violations by rickshaws will now carry a Rs 2,000 penalty, while overspeeding fines for motorcycles, rickshaws, and cars remain unchanged under the new plan.
Car and jeep fines have been reduced from Rs 5,000 to Rs 3,000, while luxury vehicles above 2,000cc face penalties between Rs 2,000 and Rs 10,000.
Luxury vehicle fines have been halved from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000, while Mazda, coaster, and small passenger vans now face Rs 7,000 penalties.
Truck, bus, and heavy vehicle fines have been reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000, with other penalties for light and heavy vehicles also lowered.
