NICAT-incubated drone manufacturer NEXERIN has secured a $2 million investment from a German corporation, marking a significant milestone for Pakistan’s aerospace startup ecosystem. The deal was facilitated through connections made at NICAT’s Investor Connect 2.0 event, according to an announcement by the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies.
Founded by Muhammad Tayyab Yamin, NEXERIN specializes in AI-powered unmanned aerial systems for commercial and defensive applications.
The Rawalpindi-based startup develops autonomous drone platforms capable of coordinated flight, mesh communication and modular payload integration. The company’s product portfolio includes rescue drones, agriculture drones, medical delivery systems, surveillance drones, extended endurance drones, loitering UAVs and AI-enhanced fleet coordination systems.
The investment underscores growing international interest in Pakistan’s aerospace and defense technology sector. NEXERIN’s advanced capabilities include autonomous drone platforms with computer vision and machine learning, multispectral imaging for precision agriculture, temperature-controlled payload delivery systems for medical supplies and distributed AI for multi-drone coordination. The startup operates from NICAT’s facility at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in Rawalpindi.
NICAT, funded by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication through Ignite National Technology Fund and managed by a NETSOL-led consortium, has incubated 77 startups since 2022. The incubator has facilitated over PKR 1.2 billion in investments, generated PKR 3.1 billion in revenues and created more than 20,000 jobs across Pakistan’s aerospace and deep-tech sectors.
The German investment represents one of several recent international funding successes for Pakistani startups emerging from government-backed incubation programs. NICAT’s Investor Connect events bring together venture capitalists, angel investors and corporate executives to connect with high-potential startups in aerospace, engineering and deep-tech verticals. The platform has proven effective at creating opportunities for strategic partnerships and cross-border investments that position Pakistani innovation on the global stage.
