Pakistani authorities have officially responded to false and misleading claims spreading across social media platforms regarding the e-protector certificate system for overseas employment.
Officials have confirmed that the online protector, known as e-protector, is not a mandatory requirement for citizens seeking employment opportunities in foreign countries.
The e-protector system exists solely as a convenience service, allowing citizens to complete the protector process easily from home without visiting any government office in person.
Workers who choose to use the online protector service receive an official certificate directly via email upon successfully completing the entire registration process online.
At the Airport
This emailed certificate serves as valid proof of protector completion at the airport, specifically for those workers who registered through the online system rather than in-person offices.
The certificate is required at airport checks because online applicants do not receive any physical stamp or sticker on their passport during the process.
In contrast, citizens who visit a protector office in person receive an official protector stamp or sticker physically applied directly onto their passport by the relevant staff.
Airport officials check this physical passport stamp for in-person applicants, meaning those travellers have no need to carry or present any e-protector certificate at all.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely only on official government sources when seeking guidance about overseas employment procedures.
