The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has moved its degree attestation system fully online and paperless. This step replaces the earlier manual verification process. The change aims to make document handling faster and simpler for applicants across Pakistan.
Under the new system, applicants can submit attestation requests anytime. Applications are now accepted through the HEC e-Services Portal. The process is available around the clock without physical visits. This shift reduces delays and improves access for students and professionals.
HEC will now issue an e-Attestation Certificate after verification. Applicants can download this certificate directly from their online dashboard. The certificate and attested documents can be verified later through the HEC Verification Portal. This system strengthens document authenticity and reduces misuse.
Only original degrees are accepted under the new process. Photocopies of educational documents are no longer processed for attestation. This rule has been introduced to ensure document accuracy and maintain verification standards. Applicants are required to follow this condition strictly.
Applicants are no longer required to visit HEC offices in person. In addition, they are not required to courier original documents for attestation. The process is now handled digitally from start to finish.
However, applications already submitted under the old system will still be processed. This applies to those who have paid the attestation fee earlier. These cases will follow the previous method until 30th June, 2026. Applicants are advised to complete their pending process before this deadline.
Those who have not yet paid the fee under the old system are encouraged to switch. They should now apply through the new online platform instead. This ensures faster processing and avoids delays caused by the previous manual system.
Importantly, all attestation certificates issued before the new system remain valid. These older documents can still be verified online. The verification service remains active for all previously attested degrees through the verification portal.
