Leaked details from an employee at a major UK game retailer suggest Grand Theft Auto VI could be priced at £69.99, with pre-orders potentially opening on May 12.
The claims, first shared on Reddit and X, also suggest that a European price of around €69.99 may apply to several countries upon the full official game release.
A release more than a decade in the making
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, following two significant and unexpected development delays.
The title has attracted enormous anticipation partly because players around the world have waited well over a decade since Grand Theft Auto V was first released in 2013.
If the leaked price is accurate, it would offer considerable relief to the many fans who feared the game could be priced at or near the one-hundred-dollar mark.
That $100 pricing rumour has followed both Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive for several months, generating widespread concern among the global gaming community.
One edition, no bundles, and official silence
According to the leaked information, only one edition of the game may initially be available at launch, with absolutely no special console bundles currently confirmed at this stage.
Rockstar Games has not publicly responded to these latest claims and has so far offered no official confirmation regarding pricing, pre-order dates, or the long-awaited third game trailer.
Industry observers widely believe that May could prove to be a very important month for the marketing strategy of Rockstar, particularly with a Take-Two earnings call expected later this month.
Online reaction to the leak has been notably mixed, with some fans remaining sceptical after months of unverified rumours, while others believe a major official announcement is near.
