Samsung has updated its Device Care app to version 13.8.80.7. This update introduces a new feature that may help many users. It focuses on controlling unwanted notification ads. The app can now detect apps that spam the notification area with ads. Once detected, these apps are placed into deep sleep. This stops them from sending further interruptions to the user.
In addition, Samsung uses a basic blocking system. It relies on a list of apps identified by Samsung as frequent ad senders. These apps are automatically blocked when found on a device.
There is also an intelligent blocking option. This feature constantly analyzes incoming notifications. It tries to decide whether they are ads and blocks them if they appear too frequently. However, Samsung clearly notes that this detection may not always be accurate.
Users still have full control over their apps. If an app starts sending too many ads, it can be uninstalled manually at any time. This new system simply adds an automated layer of protection.
Device Care comes built into One UI on Samsung devices. So most users already have access to it. However, this new feature has so far only been spotted on One UI 8.5. As a result, some users may need to wait for the update. The rollout is still in progress. It may take a few days or even weeks to reach all supported devices.
