The federal government has postponed the meeting of the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC), a crucial session linked to preparations for the upcoming FY2026-27 federal budget.
According to sources, the meeting was initially scheduled for May 20 to finalize the development budget and approve the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) before the presentation of the federal budget.
The Planning Commission of Pakistan had earlier announced the date for the session, which plays a central role in shaping the country’s annual development strategy.
Officials said a new date for the APCC meeting will be announced later.
The APCC meeting is regarded as one of the most important stages in Pakistan’s budget-making process, as it reviews development priorities, sector-wise allocations, and public investment plans for the next fiscal year.
The committee is also responsible for approving federal and provincial development schemes and recommending key macroeconomic targets, including GDP growth and inflation projections for FY2027.
The delay comes at a time when the government is finalizing fiscal measures and IMF-linked reforms ahead of the upcoming budget announcement.
