The OnePlus 16 is already shaping up as one of the most discussed upcoming flagships. New leaks are now creating confusion around its display refresh rate. Earlier, a Chinese tipster claimed the phone could push display performance further than before.
That report suggested a minimum refresh rate of 185Hz. It also said OnePlus may aim for a peak refresh rate of 240Hz. This would mark a big jump from the OnePlus 15, which launched with a 165Hz display last year.
However, a new leak is telling a different story. Another Chinese tipster now claims the OnePlus 16 will stick to a 165Hz refresh rate. This directly challenges the earlier higher refresh rate rumors. As a result, the final display specs remain unclear for now.
Camera details are also shifting with each new report. One leak suggested a 200MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom. That setup would bring a strong Zoom experience to the device. In addition, the phone may also include a dedicated AI button, according to the same tipster.
Meanwhile, earlier rumors pointed to a 200MP primary camera. But a newer claim says the main sensor could be downgraded to 50MP instead. However, no clear details about the lens or sensor type have been confirmed yet.
On the performance side, the OnePlus 16 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. This processor has not been officially announced yet. Still, it is likely to power several next-generation flagship phones.
Battery life may also see a major upgrade. Reports suggest a massive 9,000 mAh battery could be included. If true, this would place the OnePlus 16 among the largest batteries in a premium smartphone.
For now, all details remain based on leaks. Therefore, the final specifications could still change before launch.
