Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, visited the BISP Zonal Office Skardu, in Gilgit-Baltistan and addressed women beneficiaries.
She briefed participants on the transition towards Digital Wallets, highlighting transparency, convenience, and financial inclusion as key objectives under government directives.
Senator Rubina announced that free mobile SIMs are being distributed, enabling women to open digital accounts and directly receive future stipend payments.
The Chairperson urged beneficiaries to obtain their free SIMs before 15 June 2026, ensuring uninterrupted access to financial assistance under the programme.
Rubina also inspected office sections, reviewed disbursement challenges, and assured women that their concerns would be addressed with priority and efficiency.
She stated beneficiaries will withdraw payments easily from nearby bank facilitation centers, strengthening accessibility and convenience through the new digital system.
She emphasized the dedication to dignified, secure, and transparent support, noting its legacy honoring Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s sacrifices for women’s empowerment.
