The All Pakistan Clerks Association has demanded a 200 percent increase in salaries and a 500 percent rise in house rent, medical, and other allowances for government employees ahead of the Federal Budget 2026-27.
According to media reports, the association’s central leadership has submitted a six-point charter of demands to the government and announced a protest demonstration in Islamabad on June 2 to press for its acceptance.
APCA leaders argue that rising inflation and increasing living costs have significantly reduced the purchasing power of public-sector employees, making existing salary packages insufficient to meet household expenses. The association says a substantial revision in salaries and allowances is necessary to help government workers cope with current economic conditions.
In addition to financial demands, APCA has urged the government to reconsider plans related to the privatization of public-sector institutions, maintaining that such measures could negatively impact employees and public services.
The association has called on government workers from across the country to participate in the Islamabad protest as part of efforts to secure relief before the announcement of the federal budget.
Authorities in the federal capital have reportedly begun security arrangements ahead of the planned gathering, which is expected to attract a large number of government employees and union representatives.
The demands come as the government finalizes budget proposals for FY2026-27 amid ongoing discussions on salaries, pensions, and fiscal reforms for public-sector workers.
